INTAKE KIT

Featured Replies

Just spent this morning modifying two well known intake system, Firstly was the forge intake and secondly was the bsh system,(Lukily i had the forge system given me and got the bsh at half price) I liked the position of the bsh but didnt like the noise it made at 3000 rpm (sounded like a duck being strangled) but liked the sound of the forge but didnt like the positioning, So took the bull by the horns and made a hybrid system of my own and so far it does a very good job, using vds intake temps are as good as both the systems were. strangely the forge pipe work was 3 degrees cooler over the top of the engine after a drive than the bsh, Must disipate heat quicker than the bsh? (using a digital infa red thermometer)

Looks good.

Is the light blue vacuum tube for an electronic boost gauge?

Thanks, and yes its for a electronic boost guage.

Just looks like a BSH kit to me but a different colour.

I never got the duck/goose noise with the BSH in the five miles it stayed on my car, I took it off because it was fooking loud!

Er no,The BSH system doesnt have a 90 degree silicone hose on the turbo inlet it has a straight coupler and the main pipe is the forge pipe which i have cut down in length and not the bsh. I tried both systems in there stock setup and the bsh sounded ****ing horrible but not loud but the forge just sounded awesome to me.

I'm running a neuspeed on mine, which can be loud. My engine bay is nowhere near as clean as yours though:

you guys havent heard loud till you've heard the ITG. made the others sound like standard :giggle: It was its only downfall IMO. Addictive noise though, not good for fuel economy

EVOMS is louder than the BSH - having owned 2 different systems and experienced 2 further ones, the BSH is actually fairly quiet in comparison.

I find it amazing that BSH reckon the goose noise, which basically every owner reports, is down to anyone *other* than the design of their intake.

(Quote: relocate the DV or fit a Forge spacer, that will clear it up - thanks guys).

Christ if the BSH is quiet I don't want to try the others lol. When fitting the BSH I put the silicone coupling just over the pipe edges which I read helped with the goose noise. Seriously though it was so loud you could clearly tell which part of the bonet the noise was coming from whilst driving, it was just like a jet engine. There was no way I was gonna disguise my secret purchase from SWMBO lol.

+1. :giggle:

I can't comment on other intakes, but as Timmyboy says, the EVOMs is v.loud! Swmbo's comment the first time she heard the 'suck' was, oh christ, you haven't fitted one of them stoopid dump valve thingy's have you?
