i recently bought a 2001 octavia vrs the speakers in every siide of the car have been played way to loud and aren't in the best condition. i was just wondering if anyone knows the sizes of the speakers in the front doors and the rear door, especially the speaker/ tweeters that are in the rear door handle area.

If your fitting front door speakers yourll need the custom fit shallow ones that fit Octys Mk4 Golfs and the like as normal type speakers are too deep

I managed to get a pair of shallow fit infinity speakers from halfords about 3 years ago. Very bass light but crystal clear sound, probably designed to be used with a subwoofer. Cant remember if they are 6.5 or 5 and quarter inch. Probably likely 5 and quart. Just take the old ones out and measure, only takes a couple of mins.

or you can trim a bit of the metal in the door that restricts the depth of speaker, you should extend/modify the inner door membrane if you do this so that water cant get into the car. Or get speaker pods that allow for bigger speakers to start with like audioscape, but they are expensive.

I bent the end of that bit of metal so my Focals would fit.

I just did mine on sat. fronts are 16cm 6inch ,rears are 13cm 5.25inch halford have som fli ones in that are shollow fit and there on sale for £29 there really good and sound great..

You make up 2 little wires with the push fittings and slide it on speaker then into the plugs DONOT cut plugs off....

I replaced all of the speaker wires as I went/ Crossovers are behind the glovebox on passenger side and above the cover under the steering wheel on drivers side

best way Rob, the standard wiring is not great, so oxygen free cable was fitted with new gold connections when i changed my speakers, i dont use any of the standard speaker wiring at all.
