MIL not working

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

just bought an used octavia. everything looked fine. until I hooked it up to my obd2 cable (just for the sake of fun, even thought there was no MIL on). It scantool.net said P0135. I wondered why MIL doesn't indicate anything, then i found it doesn't work at all, it doesn't come even when i turn on the ignition (without starting the engine).

Is it possible to use VAG to disable MIL completely? (perhaps the previous owner decided to pay someone 10e to disable the MIL light instead of 100euro for a new lamba?)

Or would it be the LED in the dashboard gone?

thanks for any suggestions

What's MIL?

Mother-in-law?

If you could turn off the mother in law with vag com I'll buy one right now lol

P0135 is a heater circuit fault on the first lambda probe.

MIL is the engine management warning light, it can't be disabled through diagnostics, so:

The LED is faulty.

The LED/LED circuit has been tampered with.

The dash panel has been disassembled and the graphic blanked out.
