Interior Display

Featured Replies

Hope someone can help. I have a 2002 Superb Comfort and noticed recently that my interior display is not working properly. I can change the mpg,and trip calculator etc and fill washer alert works ok. What doesn't work now is the alert when a door or boot is opened, the small car display used to pop up but not now. I noticed today that I have a headlight out so that alert is not working either.

About 2 years back I had the problem of water in the passenger footwell fixed as all my interior light had gone,so the wiring was fixed and the pollen filter sealed so hopefully it not from there again.

Can anybody help please?

You need to get it diagnosed using VCDS or similar SW and cable (or pay the dealer/workshop to do it).

If nothing is broken, the disappearing warnings would be due to change of first 2 digits in Instrument Cluster coding - should be 31 for all warnings (mine was 31415). You could have also other fault codes showing over VCDS.

But coding should be stored in nonvolatile memory, so perhaps it is just sufficient to power-cycle the culster? Either disconnect/reconnect the battery, or find the fuse which powers the instrument cluster (the display should go dark).

I hope it helps.

Thanks I will give that a try.
