How much for a 40K miles service?

Featured Replies

I'm due a 40k miles service but as this is my first ever Skoda Octavia Vrs how much could I expect the bill to be? I'm taking it to VW Beadles in Sevenoaks in Kent in 2 weeks time. As far as i'm aware there is nothing wrong with my car at all. I always check oil every week and the usual stuff. My brother thinks VW charge a lot on labour but don't all garages these days. Can anyone give me an avarage price? I did ask the lady on the phone and she claims the service to be £260 but I think it will be much more than that.

I paid about £252 (pre VAT increase) at the local Stealer for 40k Variable service on my Vrs

I was under the impression that the 40k (or 4 years whichever is earlier) service on the petrol TFSI was accompanied by a cambelt change which pretty much doubled the cost :(

Can anyone clarify?

Depends on the service schedule for the individual car (fixed or variable). My VRS was on variable which came out at around 14-15 month intervals. The 3rd service occurred around 3.5 years/36,000 and cost £295 (South London Dealer). The Cambelt/Waterpump was 6 months later and was just shy of £500

Just had my 40,000, also had engine problems. Service included cambelt change, 2 new tires, all coil packs and spark plugs, new wiper blades and a MOT. £1500 later my car still doesn't work!

Matt
