VRS Mats / Sidelights

Featured Replies

Still waiting for my vrs......

Anyway decided to try and cheer myself up by ordering a few bits and bobs for it.

Car mats (non skoda) have just arrived and very nice they are too - but I've just noticed although the mats have fittings to accept the round post type fittings, the bits that actually fasten/screw into the carpet are missing. I'm told the car comes with these allready fitted from the factory - can anyone confirm this please before i order some ?.

Secondly yet another sidelights question. I've ordered some Philips extreme bulbs for the dipped and main beam, but was wondering about the sidelight bulbs in the headlamp units - are there any circumstances where these are actually lit ?. I know the drl's act as drl's/sidelights but what about parking lights or "handed" parking lights with the indicator stalk up or down. I only ask because if they are purely "decorative" rather than functional,I was thinking of replacing the factory bluevision ones with some green ones to match the car.

The bulbs in the main headlight unit are the main beam units. They only come on when the main beam is used or if you flash someone. DE modules are dipped beam only.

Correct me someone if I am wrong but am certain this is the case.

Front footwells do indeed have the fasteners for mats but rears dont.

As far as i know there are no times where there are any sidelights on except for the ones that double as drls including parking lights

Does anyone know if this is also the case with Superb II before I make a **** of myself as I have just recieved mats but no fittings as well, and was on the verge of sending a stroppy email

As far as I am aware all VAG cars only have fastening clips for the front mats. My MK6 Golf came with factory mats and only the fronts clip in.

Yep you're right. But if you look carefully at the headlamp units (can only look at photos cos i have'nt got the damn car yet)there are actually three bulbs in there - one dipped beam - one main beam and a bluevision type 5w sidelight. Just trying to find out if the 5w light came on as a parking light rather than the drl units.
