abs fault 00287

Featured Replies

hello to everyone

just got abs and asr lights come on run a check found fault 00287 rear right abs sensor .

can any body tell me if rear right is passengers or drivers side rear wheel. and how difficult

is to change the sensor

kind regards graham

The left and right are based on sitting in a seat facing forwards, left is the passenger side, which is also known as the nearside as it is closest to the kerb, right is the drivers side, which is also known as the offside.

I don't know too much about the Octavia 2, but the sensor is usually held in with a 10mm bolt, unfortunately they often seize solid in their housing and can be damaged/destroyed in removal. First off check the wiring connection and for any debris in the interruptor ring.

You may want to double check which of the sensors is having troubles using the measuring values of the ABS. VW hasn't been great with the whole driver/passenger stuff in countries driving on "the wrong side of the road"... ;)
