Delete Paired Phone

Featured Replies

Hello

I've had my lovely Superb paired with my HTC HD2 for just over a year without too many gripes ...

but ... the phone has just come back from repair and I am having trouble getting it to connect.

It all paired as it should but the conection keeps failing so I want to remove the pairing for it from the car and start again from scratch.

In the manual it says, with no connection established, to hold the 'open call' button on the steering wheel for 10+seconds to wipe all connections and this will be confirmed with an audible signal.

I have tried this several times without success.

Can anyone please offer any assistance?

Easiest thing to do is to pair another phone and then erase the old profile. I found it difficult to delete profiles with the early MKII Superbs GSM system.

How about a factory restore via the setup>telephone option?

I did this with my iPhone when it had a spat with the hands free system in my Superb.

Thanks for the ideas :-)

I have two other phones paired (besides this one) and on the first attempt to reconnect it after it was repaired the display said that we were going to exceed out maximum number of stored 'pairs' and did we want to delete one. We skipped the opportunity and haven't been asked since even though the phone is now carrying a different ID - isn't hindsight great?!

Going down the factory reset route I have just been out and has a rummage through the Columbus options and I don't have Setup > Telephone ...

I do have Setup > Factory Settings but there isn't a telephone option within that and I don't really want to have to flatten everything just to sort the phone out ...

I've been into the Telephone options and there's just the normal Update phone book, delete call lists etc

You're right. Mine has no setup/telephone option either.

Sorry to hijack op but I've a similar (same?) problem. I've only had mine a week but the last few days upon starting the car, the first thing the MFD does is try to connect to the last owners nokia phone. I'm sure it didn't do that when i first got it. I don't use my phone in the car. Is there any way to stop it trying to connect to the/any phone?

Look for Bluetooth rather than phone - that's where you remove the pairing.

Where's that Ray? I don't recall seeing bluetooth anywhere in the MFD settings.

As stated in the manual:

If you select the menu point Telephone in the information display with the aid of

the handwheel , you can select the following menu points:

  • Phone book
  • Dial number
  • Call register
  • Voice mailbox
  • Messages
  • Bluetooth
  • Settings
  • Back

Bluetooth

In the menu Bluetooth you can select the following menu points:

  • User - the overview of the stored users
  • New user - Search for users who are in the reception range
  • Visibility - Switching on the visibility of the telephone unit for other devices
  • Extras
  • Headset
  • Modem
  • Phone name - the possibility to change the name of the telephone unit (preset SKODA-rSAP)

I'm fairly sure that you need a phone paired to access this menu group, but I might be wrong.

In the User section, you can delete pairings.

Just an update: I have only had a compatible phone for a few months and couldn't work out how to do it. I have just ended up trying again and happened upon this old thread of mine. Just wanted to let you know that this worked perfectly.

Cheers Ray.
