Residual Values

My 1.2 TSI Yeti Elegance is not far off a year old and with less than 5,000 miles I was wondering what it might be worth, any feedback / recent experience appreciated.

I too would be interested in any info on second hand values. Anecdotally the Yeti seems to command a better value than had been predicted, probably because it has been a success, and people being prepared to pay a bit more to own one immediately.

My 170 4*4 Elegance with metallic paint and upgraded sound system is 11 months old, has 19500 on the clock, 4 new tyres, and about to have its second service tomorrow.........

Anyone any ideas. I might do a TP and get the next one ordered and on the system - and this time in WHITE., sound, and electric seats.

Looking at the past prices on the SUK Used Car details, not a lot less than you paid for it!

Depending on miles, etc.

i ordered my 110 4x4 late December trading in my 1.2tsi and was over the moon with the trade in, paid £16k got £15k for it 12 months old all bar 3 weeks with 10k on it and my dealer didn't even look to this day he has not seen it, last time was when he gave me the keys, also i am still using it 11k+ on it now.

my new 110 is build week 16 so will have another 8+ week use out of it yet with no loss to me. certainly a good time to change

The lowest price Elegance spec models are on Auto Trader for £17,995, that's for a 60 plate car with 1,850 miles on it but the same price is being asked for a 10 plate with 9,000 miles on the clock.

The values of Yetis are holding strong at the moment but I think they are going to start falling in the next 6 months.

They are pretty tricky to price as a part exchange due to the long lead times on certain models.

interestingly, I challenged Sinclair Skoda to make me an offer for mine against a new on in 6 months.

The car I paid £21k for a year ago is worth over £18500 now, against a new one costing £23400, so with some negotiating I could be down to a figure of £4000 to change (or thereabouts).

They do however say that any bids made now will be subject to market conditions in 6 months - and the difficulties of that make it tricky for them as well as for the buyer!!

What is VERY interesting is that Yeti values have held absolutely form for over 6 months now - independent of mileage. Mine has 20k on the clock, yet is still worth 18.,5k now.

I am tempted - sorely tempted!! In their showroom was a cancelled order for a 1.2 TSi. Sold within 2 days!!

Oh - and my second service? Only £120!!

Cheers, Sinclair Skoda.

Slightly off topic.

Drove past ford main dealer in doncaster today, two new style ford focus on forecourt, one at £19300 the other £20700.Obviously don't know what the specs were but that's a lot of money for a focus.

Hi George,

you may find this private sellers add on Autotrader interesting;

Again, slighlty off topic, but why did Ford design the new Focus to look like a Kia? Fords pricing has been dubious for some years now, hence why there are usually loads of £5K off Focus' at the car supermarkets.

Have to say that £23K for a 7000 mile 170 Yeti Elegance looks optimistic to say the least, but good luck to the seller anyway!
