Service interval check

Featured Replies

Hey guys, new to the site as a poster though i have been following for sometime.

Dose anybody know how to check for the next service due date/miles if you dont have the maxidot installed. I am on a variable service schedule

I have an 07 plate VRS PD that had a service mid last year it currently has 51k on the clock and will be in for cambelt and water pump change soon, but i cant find out when the next servie is due. if this is soon i might aswell get the whole lot done at the same time.

How can you tell if its just a lube service or full service that is required aswell?

any help much appreciated

Not 100% sure as my car has maxidot but try turning the ignition on but not starting the car then pushing and holding the mileage trip reset button. If it works the same then after a few seconds the number of miles or days until next service should appear.

Cheers for the reply, tried the suggested method but that just reset the computer display and didn't show anything regarding a service

I think you turn the ignition on as suggested above but twist the trip reset knob anticlockwise.

No - that doesn't do it - that adjusts the clock.

Switch on the ignition but don't start the engine

Push the trip reset and hold - the trip initially resets to zero but comes back when you hold it in

After a few seconds the display will show miles to service then after a pause, days to service (or maybe other way around) then after a pause it shows trip again.

It does on mine - just been out and tried it.

Must be different on the FL - in my old pre FL non-maxidot you twisted the trip reset to adjust the clock. One way to adjust the minutes and the other to adjust the hours. Press and hold with the ignition on to see the service interval. Short press to switch between the trip and odometer. Press until zeros appeared then release to reset the trip.

OP's car is a 2007 vRS so it is pre-FL.

You could also perform some wierd and wonderful twist, push, while standing on one leg and whistling "God Save the Queen" ritual to reset the service interval but I never tried that. :giggle:

That's where I've been going wrong, all this time I thought it was "Land of Hope and Glory":rofl:
