Cambelt

Featured Replies

For some bizarre reason this has started to gnaw away at me.

When I saw the car I now have for sale (in a garage) I phoned them up and asked if the cambelt had been changed - salesman said he would need to check but if it hadn't been done they would do it.

Anyway, went out to look at the car - FSH from Dean of Dumfries but no sign of the cambelt being done (even phoned Dean to check). Agreed to buy the car but next thing he added the cost of getting the cambelt done (plus water pump) to the purchase price - I was so keen on the car (plus not the sharpest after a poor night's sleep) that I let him away with it - it's not the money - as a point of principle I should have told him to ram it as he was taking the **** :wall: .

It's not like me either as I struck good deals on my previous two cars - just don't like some slimeball salesman getting one over on me - on the plus side the car hasn't missed a beat in the time I've had it (hope I'm not tempting fate here!).
