7.5 x 17 wheels.

Featured Replies

All,

I have searched for the answer for this and read every page of definitive alloy wheel thread but not found the exact answer. Probably as its not done to often.

I just wanted to know that if i replace my standard zeniths 7x17" with 7.5x17" what offset should i be looking for. I quite fancy a set of team dynamics race 1.2 in black or imolas in black.

Or am i being mad and should just go for 8x18"?

I don't mind the wheels going out towards the arches a little more for the wider stance look but obviously don't want any problems with rubbing etc on front or back. Not that i think this should be an issue sticking with the small 17s,

Anyone got these wheels in 17's already?

Thanks in advance

Hmmm, I was under the assumption that the 17" Zenith was also 7.5J?! ET51.

Personally if you are going to change the wheels I would go bigger. 18 x 8 will fit in the arch no bother, look for an offset of between 45-50 and you won't go far wrong. If you're stuck try here for a wheel offset calculator. The 18" Zeniths are definately 18 x 7.5 ET51, so base any new wheel dimensions on that figure, simples.

EDIT: I just remembered, Brimma has a set of Black Team Dynamics 8 x 18 ET45 for sale here! It must be fate. :giggle: Drop him a PM and have a search in his content, you will find bundles of pictures of the wheels on and probably off the car.

Cheers . Although I thought the standards were 7 x 17 are they not? Et 54

If not then I have my wires crossed.

Don't quote me, but I can't see that being correct. My wheels are 18 x 7.5J ET51, based on your figures, your wheels would sit a further 9mm out, I know for a fact other members have fitted 15mm hubcentric spacers to there cars with the 17" zenith fitted! That would be like adding a 1" spacer to mine!!! :o It would foul the arch big time...... B)

Edit: Well I stand corrected, I have it on good authority that your measurements are spot on.

No worries mate, so regardless of actual diameter then 7.5 width would need around a offset of 50 ish?
