VCDS registration

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help please?

I've been offered a Ross-Tech HEX + CAN Lead and software (version 9.08 i think) for £80. I'm very tempted to buy it but i was wondering about registration of the product. If i'm buying it second hand will the product have been registered by the original owner and therefore be of little or no use to me? Or can i re-register the product myself and at what cost? Also, do i have to be registered to download software updates from Ross-Tech?

I've heard people on here mentioning things like "fully registered VCDS" so i'm not sure if its worth me buying it or not? If i dont/cant register it will i not have full use of the software? Do i even need to register it?

My main reason for wanting to buy it is so that i can upgrade to the Bolero HU. I need to change the CAN gateway and then re-code it. But when i've done that i'd like to try some other bits out. Once i'm familiar with it all i'll be able help anyone else out in the Hertfordshire area who may need the use of VCDS.

Thanks in advance, Lee

If it is a legit interface from us, then it will work just fine. If you want full registration for the interface, then you have to buy a registration for $99 USD by going to this page:

VCDS Used Dongle Interface Ownership Transfer

You do not have to be registered to download the software and you should update to version 10.6.3 as soon as possible.

Many thanks for your reply. Can you tell me please, what are the advantages of being fully registered?
