Fuse Layout help

Featured Replies

Would some kind soul with a scanner and their handbook be able to post the fuse layout for a 1st generation Octavia?

Si,

somwwhere on the site Denis posted up the fuse layout with it flipped round the right way.

If you can't find it I'll try and sort thing this evening.

Cheers.

I'm still looking for the "key" :)

No Owner's Manual?

It lives in my box-full-of-useful-stuff in the boot. I had to take this out last week to fit more in the car, and it's still about 250 miles North of me, waiting for me to collect it.

I managed to stuff the high-vis jacket in the spare wheel well but didn't think the rest of the box's contents were too important :(

Unfortunately the Owner's Manual is copyright hence it would be stretching things a bit too far to post a 'scanned' fuse list here. But ask if you need to identify any particular fuses...

Thanks for the reminder about copyright - I won't post the list when I get my book back, then.

I'm looking for a non-critical ignition switched line that I can splice to provide power to a GPS. By non-critical, I mean that if I / my new toy blows the fuse it won't be dangerous while driving.

I would have used the cigarette lighter, but that seems to remain "live" all the time. Should it?

As an aside, I have vague memories of threads that even say it should be isolated when the rear window switch are disabled. Am I imagining this?

It would appear so...if I forgot to pull the plug my GPS camera detector stays on with the car locked. :o

I spliced in to the wires behind the light switch - both switched and live are available there. Fuse is man enough IIRC, I used the same source for 2 Defi gauges, a DEFI controller and my road angel.

On the new one I'm using the same source just for my origin B2, no probs in 47,000 miles so far.

Yes if you disable the rear windows the ciggie lighter goes off too - puzzled me for a while when I was running a little phone kit plugged into it :D

Not for me. How bizarre

I might have said a relay had failed closed, except that Adrian's also doesn't switch with ignition.

I suspect that'll do the job nicely. I had noticed that the switch is illuminated when the ignition is on, do you mean this line?

Thanks  If it should be doing this then I'll take a look at the same time, seeing as I have the "covers off"

Had a check and it doesn't seem to do it...detector stayed on regardless of rear window lock out position.
