iphone 4 with MDI & Bluetooth handsfree

Featured Replies

Could someone please confirm for me whether you can play music stored on your iphone(4) through the car stereo via the MDI port whilst connected to the factory fitted bluetooth handsfree?

Hi Richard,

I think you can. The bluetooth connection should be maintained whilst you connect to the MDI as they are two separate systems. I suspect the music will pause when you receive a phone call on the iPhone but I'm not 100% sure.

Doesn't the factory fit Bluetooth support A2DP?

i can play my itunes through my iphone 4 in my car stereo when the music on your iphone 4 just the button u press for mdi then go for blue tooth ;)

My experience with an iphone3 is that yes you can stream via bluetooth and yes you can input via MDI when the iphone becomes an ipod in effect. BUT you cant play music from the iphone over MDI whilst simultaneously bluetoothed. This one was one of the many reasons why I went down the cheap hard drive route for music, and let the iphone just be a phone whilst bluetoothed to the car.
