Who's changed from Octy 1?

Featured Replies

Just a question , how many of you guys have bought a Octy 2, after owning a previous version 1 model? What do you think? I have had a 2002 110Tdi Elegance for last 3 years. Pick up 140 PD TDi in 3 weeks, have been real impressed with 110 model.

I had an Ocky 1 110 BHP TDI SXL for 4 and a half years. I had clocked nearly 80,000 miles so a change was due. Test drove a 1.8 Ambient and was hooked.

Took delivery of a 1.9 TDI Elegance on 1 Sept. The Ocky 2 is far superior in all respects; it holds the road as if is on rails. Seats are very comfortable and the high up driving position gives very good control. Leg room at the back far better than on the Mk1 and the additonal boot space is very useful.

Performance much the same as the 110 TDI, fuel economy creeping up. Averaging well over 50 mpg overall and can get up to 70 mpg on long motorway runs.

The four bulb headlights are infinitely superior to the Mk1 two-bulb set-up. Can almost be compared to replacing a candle with a searchlight.

The additional "boys toys" Cruise Control, Leather Steering Wheel, Parking Radar, Auto Dipping Rear View Mirror and Rain Sensing Wipers all add to the pleasure. The lights under the door mirrors that come on when you unlock the car are a very nice touch.

The storage cubby-holes on the Elegance are very useful, especially the one by the steering column that is exactly the right size for my Traffic Master.

Minor niggle is that the cigarette lighter is no longer switched through the ignition which means that I have to unplug my mobile phone hands free unit when I park.
