New Steel Grey Scout on its way!

Featured Replies

Well I've just done the deal to replace our Diamond Silver 2.0PD Scout with a new one! Well the 1.8TSI anyway.

Since it will be built after 1st June (delivery expected August) it will be Model Year 2012 with the new Skoda badge. Even more pleasing, having "hmmed and ahhed" over Brilliant Silver versus Black Magic for weeks, was confirmation of two new colours for the Octavia from 1st June: Storm Blue goes replaced by Petrol Blue and Aqua Blue goes replaced by Steel Grey.

So Steel Grey it is with silver roof rails, polished Proteus wheels, Xenons, DRLs, MFSW with maxidot, spare wheel & curtain airbags.

One happy bunny!

Very sound - steel grey will look great on the Scout. If the Petrol Blue is anything like the VW dark metallic blue, that will be an excellent choice too. Great bit of intelligence thanks, Les.

Does anyone know if there are any other differences/changes between MY11 & MY12 for the Scout apart from badges and the legal requirement of DRL's?

I ordered my 1.8TSI at the start of February and the dealer gave me an initial 3/4 month delivery time but have had nothing confirmed yet. I get an email from the dealer every few weeks saying the order has been accepted by Skoda but no build date has yet been given.

Just wondering if there's a chance my build will get pulled forward or pushed back to facilitate the change in year models around the start of June, and if so, what the implications may be?!?

They're not many by the sound of it! Other than the colour and badge changes I think they're limited to:

* A change to the dashboard icon for "handbrake on"

* A change for the name ESP to EDC (or something like that!)

* Deletion of the pockets on the rear of the front seats for the S trim only

* Enhancement of the Sat Nav to include full 7 digit postcode capacity.

* A change from TWIN tail pipes on the 2.0 CR 140 model to a SINGLE tail pipe

And I think that's it!

DRL's aren't a legal requirement on the Octavia as it is a current model launched before February.

The LED DRL's are still a chargeable 'feature' on the Scout in leiu of the front fog lights.
