Please help! Gateway Location

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 57 VRS TDI. I am trying to locate my Can Bus Gateway as I want to upgrade my stereo to a Bolero. I can not find it anywhere, I have looked behind my glove box and up behind the steering column and nothing!

Please help!!!

P.S. if once i find it, if by any chance it is later than K, can I get away without changing it.

Many thanks in advance.

on an 07 it is likely to be behind the fusebox somewhere.

If it is behind the glovebox you can't miss it - take the glovebox out and it is in the middle attached to a metal bracket that is held on by 3 or 4 10mm nuts.

It is probably a K or later as 2005 55 plates have an F.

Get it scanned with VCDS and you can see the revision - no need to have the dash in bits if you don't need to!

On my '07 vRS it was buried way up behind the steering column...was not easy locating it let alone changing it!

Have you taken all the dash trim off round the steering wheel and probed right up underneath? On mine, as you look at the steering wheel, it was roughly in the 2 o'clock position but quite a long way up into the dash

Good luck...!
