Finally picked it up!

Featured Replies

wooo, I FINALLY got to pick up my Fabia vRS today after being told it was at the dealers all the way back at the beginning of March.

First impressions are just  all round. I came to the Fabia from a Citroen C2 VTS (which I originally bought as a small run-around because my Range Rover was too large and thirsty for town) but someone drove into that and wrote it off (and nearly wrote me off along with it!). I was expecting the Fabia to be roughly the same as far as performance but it is a totally different beast, the power is viscious - i'm loving it :D

Also, I was in a bit of a panic about the bluetooth phone system as I had not specced it originally as per one of my other posts as I was told the dealer could fit a better, intergratd system - but then in the end just wanted to fir some sort of Parrot thing with an extra screen which I didn't want. However, I managed to get into the phone menu somehow and it was asking to pair with a phone so I tried it and it worked :S Im not quite sure how that is possible, however, I have a bluetooth phone system and it's working perfectly - I'm happy :D

Oddly, I also have a spare wheel. I was under the impression that I only got the repair kit and had to pay extra for a spare. Either way, I again did not spec it on the order but I have one.

Anyway, I am soooooo happy with it, all these weeks of waiting have been worth it, I know everyone must of heard this a million times over on here but nobody else in my family is a car lover so I'm going to have to be happy about the little green monster on here B)

Did you not test drive one before you ordered it?? The vRS is in a different league!!

The Parrot kit is more compatable with more phones than the OEM Bluetooth system

ALL Fabia vRS's come with a spare wheel

Range Rover>C2>Fabia though? Seriously? That must be one of the more bizarre car ownership paths I've seen emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

I did actually test drive the vRS twice. However I test drove both times in December - one day the roads were very wet and the other day it was snowing lightly so I never got a full and proper test drive. Also being relatively young (24), the dealer wouldn't let me out on my own so I was more worried about stuffing it through a hedge or crashing it into a ditch at the time  I eventually ended up ordering on Xmas Eve so from that point onwards I never set foot in one again until I got mine on Tuesday :D

The whole spare wheel thing was a bit of a surprise when I found out I had one as the dealer I ordered from made it totally clear it was something like an £80 option to have one included, instead I was told I would have the slime stuff. Having full AA breakdown cover I didn't really see this as a problem at the time so never forked out the extra dosh for the spare on the order day.

My car ownership history is a bit weird I guess, I passed my test in July 05 and drove a 51 plate Clio round until Feb 06 when I bought the car I had always wanted and saved for - the Range Rover (this was against almost EVERYONES advice). I then realised everyone was right with how much time I spent fixing it when it went wrong, although, it taught me almost everything I now know about cars. Then, with the fuel prices going up and car parking spaces seeming to get smaller all the time I decided to have a Citroen C2 as my run about and keep the RR for weekends and long runs etc. I was only ever going to get the 1.4 diesel but then test drove a 1.6 diesel vTS and loved it along with the 65ish MPG it could do if I drove it properly. This then got written off at the end of November last year by a woman who didn't see me (on her mobile phone is what I reckon) at a crossroads, she pulled out of the side road to go straight across and instead drove straight into the side of me, writing the car off and fracturing my spine. After recovering from that I ended up driving around in a hire vehicle, a 1.4 Vauxhall Meriva (which was hideously underpowered) until my vRS was delivered, and so, that is how my driving history has roughly gone, I have now ended up with a thirsty Range Rover and an almost as thirsty Skoda

Was it a factory order or was it already in stock. Looks like they put the OEM bluetooth on the car by accident if you didnt order it. Handy to be fair. VAG group do this now and again, my Golf GT company car was meant to be standard bar metallic paint but it came with the convenience pack (auto lights, wipers and mirror + footwell lighting). Wouldnt have been ordered as such so must have been a mistake, i'm not complaining though!

Enjoy the car, super little things they really are.....if you can get hold of one! haha

Was a new factory order and was definitely not specced on the order sheet - was well chuffed when I realised I had it as I had spent almost 3 weeks thinking about how to get one sorted for the car :D

Congratulations on the VRS. They take of a lot quicker than the heavy old RR don't they, despite only having front wheel drive? B)

Out of interest, which Range Rover ?

I had a 2 year old TDV8 Vogue SE until January of this year, when I bought a Fabia Greenline II estate for the company but liked it so much I'm using it every day.

when i went for a test drive i was asked if i wanted to go out on my own or with a salesman, i went with a salesman cos i wanted to know how to use stuff properly, being my 1st time in a slightly techy car.. i had no idea what to expect of the DSG box, nevermind an ordinary auto.

but, to the point, im only 20 and was offered the chance to take it out on my own, i wasnt even asked for my driving licence :giggle:

It's amazing how they can not follow the rules sometimes.

On my test drive the salesman left me in the car at the fuel garage with the key while he went to pay! :o

wow, some rather trusting sales people!

Mine pulled over to swap over for my turn, turned off car and took key with him, I jumped in - he jumped in and gave me the key! Known him for 5 years and our family have had 3 cars from them, just ordered another two! Not that I mind, its good to see they're careful! :)

i did all the driving, out of the garage and back in, parked up exactly where we took off from just to be nice. gave me the key when we got in the car, he forgot to take the key back when we got back, we had another 5-10 mintue chat inside before i remembered to give the key back :giggle:

maybe im just 1 of those easily trustable people
