Ok I'm in the Market for coilovers looking for Advise/ expeience looking at Weitec gt kit and kw variant 1 there's £80 between them

Iv got the v1's. Getting fitted in the next week or two. A few people reported the weitec's are a bit bouncy so that made me spend the bit extra.

Matt

I've got weitecs and no bouncyness here.

They are basically the same as the V1's just a little cheaper.

Ive got weitecs and havent got any bouncyness  They arent that harsh either really.

My weitecs are harsh but I really am low. They rusted very quickly and the adjuster on one side got so stiff ive broken the notches the spanner slots into, Think its plastic :(

This happened to me aswell. Had only been on the car for two months. Wanted to raise the car slightly to get it on a ramp didn't look rusted but gave them a spray with triflow, better than wd40, and a wire brush anyway. Went to turn with the c spanner an it broke the notches. Phoned up weitec to complain and they said they weren't covered under the warrenty. Which i thought was nonsense.

Where did you order them from? Mine are creaky and stuff too. Got in contact with awsome gti who reply to emails but seem to be waiting for the warrenty to run out untill they say unlucky mate. :( Hope they really do do something about it.

for the sake of £80 id do it

When you fit them put loads of grease on the splines so you can lower/heighten them easily, I think the spanner cup on the KW's is plastic like the weitecs too.

I have Weitec Hicon GTs on now about 2 months. They give good handling. Haven't had any problems. When I was looking and researching I found alot on here had them and had no problems.

also ment to say my big brother has put a set of hicon gt's onto his leon cupra r ten weeks ago and the rear shocks are leaking already.
