Can rear bearings go before the fronts?

Featured Replies

Simple enough Q eh?

Turned my stereo system right off for a change tonight (think the illness is making me unappreciative of the loud music) and I could hear a distinct rumble from the back. This could be due to lack of trim, but there's deffo a background constant noise.

I know a classic sign is going around a corner, the noise should get worse/better depending on the corner direction, but its the same all the time. (That could be for front wheel dodgy bearings)

I jacked the back of the car up recently, and shook both rear wheels vigorously, but there was no wobbling or signs of a wearing out bearing.

My rear went not too long ago. Not sure why it decided to jump the queue ;)

I've been wondering if the handling day has accelerated the process for mine... God I enjoyed doing those 180s and spinning away on full juice in 2nd.

Ive done a couple rear bearings on the Fabia, pretty easy to do, they are a sealed unit, just unbolt and refit.

But 1st i'd swap the tyres round front to rear and see what happens.

Might do that. I have someone possibly interested in my league tantrum alloys, so hope to be rid of them and be running on the new 5 spokes permanently. Will see if the noise persists then.

Thanks for at least making me feel happy about DIYing it (with mate's supervision of course) Is it just the hub nut like on the front wheels which undoes them?

If you buying new ones prepare for a shock.

Last time I looked they were about
