I read somewhere that the fuel calculation on the Maxi-dot can be calibrated to be more accurate.

Can someone tell me how this is done and what details I need to record.

I heard it was possible on the mk I, not sure on the mk II. It was a 'factor' to change the fuel economy figure. You need VAGCOM to do it though.

this was possible on the mk2 octavia, ill PM someone i now who did it

You need VCDS to change it, it is (on the Superb and Yeti at least) under:

17 Instruments

Display Correction of Consumptions & Operating Range

This as std is set to 100%, from experience this will need to changed to approx 109%, this will then make a car that was reading 4.5mpg optimistic, now accurate.

Each 1% equates to 0.5mpg.

Is it worth getting my own VCDS? Where do you get them from and for how mouch?

I am recording the tank full to tank full usage, would a dealer do the calibration?

VCDS costs just over £250 from a Ross-Tech distributer so it's an expensive way to just enable a few things.

As for the dealer doing it lol.
