spark plug removal dohc 1.4 16v

Featured Replies

Hi

I am having trouble to access the two spark plugs closest to my oil filler cap on my Fabia 1 DOHC 1.4 16v 100hp engine. The ring around the opening where the oil is thrown in covers the sparkplugs partly, so it is even hard to get the HT lead off on these 2 plugs.

I have tried to force the ring around the opening of the oil entry point, but it has some play on it now, so I guess some oil might start to leak from it too.

Any advice on these issues PLEASE

Thanks

The neck twists anti clockwise and pops off.

^^ yeah what he said... think of it kind of like a bayonet fitting on a light bulb, it's got 2 lugs that stick out and you just turn it 90 degrees and it will lift out

As above, mind you I got rid of that silly extension piece and the whole big black plastic air filter housing which "cooks" the engine, and made my own totaly sealed cold air intake system! Oh yeh... remember to due spark plugs when engine is cold as the metal around the sparkplug expands when hot and makes it difficult to get sparkplug sockets down!! and the torque setting for spark plugs is 30Nm (22lbt ft) B)
