Octavia 2 EPC light on!

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have a 2006 Octavia petrol vrs and the EPC and CEL came on last week. I plugged my car in using a hand help Gendan reader and no codes came up. I then decided to re-set my ecu by removing the battery, the CEL has gone off but the EPC light is still on. I have been told it could just be that i have just put some crap fuel in the car. I need to know how to get the light off or at least i need a code to be read so i can sort out this problem. I have read the EPC thread on the Octavia 2 section but thyat doesn't answer my problem.

Can anyone help me with my problem?

Thanks in advance

Tim

Electronic peddle control light has nothing to do with fuel. The first thing to do is carry out a throttle body alignment.

How do I do that?

You need Vcds etc then it's a couple of minutes work.

Thing is i don't have Vcds just a hand held reader, does anyone have Vcds in Cambridgeshire that can carry out a throttle body alignment for me?
