Halfords bulbs

Featured Replies

had around 3 sets in my mk4 golf taillights in winter and they lasted a week each (thought it was the car)

now in my lupo i've replace the sidelights as they had stupid LED's in...

now after another week one of my sidelights isnt working...

any1 else had issues with halfords bulbs??

I bought some Halfrauds sidelight bulbs and found after a while one of them looked to have blown, but on closer inspection it had decided to burn the inside of the bulb :wall:

I use halfords bulbs and have never had a problem? Trade card prices too :)

Halfords do not make the bulbs, they are rebranded from one of the major bulb manufacturers. Constant bulb failures are usually caused by dodgy earth connections, faulty voltage regulator at the alternator or just a dodgy connection. I had an issue with my old commuter hack Mondeo and it was all down to a dodgy earth on the light cluster.

Years ago I used Halfords +30% headlight bulbs and Halfords tail light bulbs on a Volvo 850 and was getting three months life. OK, the car had permanently on headlights, I asked the Dealer if anything was wrong with the car, he said 'not likely', if you fit Volvo bulbs you will be OK. I did and it was.

Stewart.
