Have a month left on extended warranty so would appreciate any views on this before taking car in...........

I've been told that the blue smoke coming from the exhaust when starting from cold is nothing to worry about as 'they all do that'. Oil level is on 'Min' - but due annual service in two weeks

What car is it?

If the smoke is blue, then they do not "all do that"; you're starting to burn engine oil, either from the turbo oil seals or from the valve oil seals.

On the diesel, a puff of white smoke on start up they pretty much all do do though; that's because the glow plugs don't fully cycle above about 5C.
