Buying a Superb Estate

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am test driving a Superb tomorrow and am pretty keen to buy - assuming I like it.

Looking at prices I was wondering if anyone out there had experience of using any of the brokers such as auto-ebid etc.

I am looking at a Greenline Elegance and they seem to be offering a price of about £4000 less than list price.

I am considering a few extra options too such as the leccy boot opening and auto-park - any opinions from those who have experienced them?.

Cheers

Dave

hi i have park assist it works very well but unless you parallel park all the time its a wast of money. The front and rear parking sensore are worth the money its a big car.

better to spend your money on a heated screen or heated rear seats.bill

Fresh meat!!!!

Seriously give James at Allams a call and see what deal he can do.

Try Carfile.net or drive the deal.co.uk. Both use main dealers but give good discounts.

Thanks Bill2.

To be honest the park assist was something that I thought would be a bit of fun. You are right though it is expensive. Not sure about the need for front sensors on their own. Does the bonnet drop away out of view? Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up. I looked at Carfile.net and drive the deal.co.uk. - both seem a bit more expensive than auto-ebid.

i added Park Assist to mine; it's merits have been discussed many times on the forum, but for me, it was around £200 or so more than just front sensors, and i thought it would be a selling point, when i came to part with the car. - also it does look pretty cool and does work!!

Spare wheel, altho not a factory option on the GreenLine would be an advantage if dealer can order in, or find on eBay.

Heated windscreen is great in winter, as are heated washers.

Hi, I have used autoebid to buy my Superb 170DSG Elegance estate. I had a few extras like front parking sensors, auto dimming rear view mirror, heated washer nozzles, mdi, sunset glass, metallic paint, and a proper spare wheel. I phoned loads of stealer's and brokers but when I came across autoebid I thought you have nothing to lose. So went through there process, waited 2 days for the auction to run and got a bid for the car cheaper than the max value they gave. Got a phone call from the company that night paid the deposit. That happened on the 28th Feb. The company has emailed me every week with updates and as I write this it should be built this week. I Will be the first owner of the car, it will be a UK car with 3 years warranty. So far I really can not complain about the whole process, but I have still to see the car! I will post once I have taken delivery of the car. The only downside is that I have to travel 150 miles to pick the car up.

I used Broadspeed for my car - but would not recommend them to you :o....... or anyone come to that.

Park assist can and will put your wheels into a curb! but IMO it's worth getting as the extra cost over the front sensors is minimal, keep a close eye on the curbs - if need be take over from the park assist and it is great, as it can get into a gap just bigger than the car

I also have the electric boot and although it costs a hefty £500 (probably more now as most options went up at the beginning of the year) it is worth the cost if you go into the boot often (I go in the boot at least twice a day).

I can vouch for drivethedeal, I have used them for 4 cars over the years, once ordered the dealer will contact you straight away.

I heard that auto Ebid use import cars, I would rssarch them if I was you.

My superb elegance is due in a month. Used drivesthedeala.

Autoebid have nothing to do with your car, all they do is put your requirements to there selected dealers. You can email all the different companies that bid for your business while the auction is live, and at the end your still not obliged to buy.

Just out of interest, roughly how much cheaper than the "max price" did you get the car for?

Dave

£1000

Wow!

Just don't tell the stealer how you are going to purchase the car. The max discount they will give is 10%. They will try tell you lots of bad things about brokers. When I asked the stealer on waiting times for the Superb he came back with 6 months :'( . They said you will not get it any faster through a broker. As you see its just been over a month. This is the first time I have used a broker and I have to say they have treated me a lot better than a stealer.

My lips will be sealed! I probably wouldn't be buying from this dealer anyway (unless they had a fantastic offer) as I live in Yorkshire but am staying/working in the midlands this week and next -but I won't tell them that.

Only 16 1/2 hours to go till Test Drive at 2!

Just march on in with the best broker price you can find, ask if they will match it, normally the dealer won't do anymore than 7% on one, but some dealer's will see a target figure rather than a profit, best to drop in around the 22nd of the mth and then that gives them time to offer that deal to you when end of month targets need to be achieved.

Drop me an email if you'd like me to give you a quote, ideally if you save a PDF from the Skoda configuator and email it to me I can give you all the figures.

I bought my Superb estate with lots of bells and whistles through Autoebid/Autofinders and saved £4250. Car supplied from a franchised dealer and delivered on a truck to my home. Would recommend.

I take it your car had nothing missing from the spec lists then?

So far it has taken a week short of 4 months to supply my missing items .... and 1 of the items has been wrongly ordered :wall:

Trying to be very patient about it, but finding it increasingly difficult.

Quick update on this, Telfords Of Carlisle have FINALLY supplied my missing item (at Autofinders expense I hasten to add  )

Well done..... it only took you 25 weeks!! (which happens to be as long as the car took to arrive)

I dare say I would still of been waiting for it now (and still getting more lies about it being: no longer included in the std spec / discontinued / etc) if it had not been for Skoda UK's intervention!
