New Member - Help please?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone! I have just found this forum today as I was looking for information for a problem we have with our Skoda Fabia - (year 02) I am wondering if it is possible for the window winding cable to just come off from the mechanism or is it likely that it has broken? The motor is obviously still working, but to no avail as the window will not wind up. Can anyone help please? :S

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hi Toni - Welcome to Briskoda

Hi Toni. As a previous Skoda employee, I would suggest the cable has probably broken and come off or broken. Reasonably cheap and easy fix, door panel off and replace the cable. Nothing too serious me thinks!

Welcome to Briskoda.

The fault with your Fabia is most likely to be a broken window regulator, the plastic clips break up and the cables wrap around the spool. The new regulator comes complete on the panel, so you have to remove the door speaker from the old regulator. There are some guides on how to replace the regulator. GSF used to supply a regulator without the panel.
