Sump guard

Featured Replies

On my previous two cars, underneath the engine there has always been some sort of plastic tray to give some protection to the engine and I presume to assist on airflow under the car.

On my yeti 1.2 DSG there is no guard, not talking about RRP but I did expect a bit of protection with a lightweight tray or similar.

Has it been missed off at the factory.

Hi Mike,

no there's nothing missing; only the diesels get a sound insulation cover underneath as standard. Otherwise it's opt for the RRP

Well, my Oct 2009 build 1.8TSi has a plastic undertray below the engine! And what a good job it does too, stopping mud etc splashing upwards into the engine compartment. Shame there's not some sort of rubber seal between the bonnet & front slam panel to stop road salt & muck in winter though.
