Octavia 2 Jumbo Box

Featured Replies

Does anyone know what is needed to fit a Jumbo box in to an Octavia 2 on a 55 plate and what is the part number/price etc?

For the fabric topped version, the part number is 1Z0 864 207 3AY. That includes the opening assembly pictured below as well.

Here's an image lifted from ETKA, showing the parts required. Sorry, not the highest quality images in there. But you get the idea! All the bits under the highlighted '10' are included in the part above. So it's the centre console part you need to complete it really.

Costs - likely to be prohibitive direct from a dealer. The armrest assembly alone lists at £150 IIRC. So best targeting a suitable model at a breakers/scrapyard. Elegance and L&K models will have them as standard.

Hope this helps.

What's part 30?

Did the Octavia (pre-FL) ever come with the 'media' version of the jumbo box (part 1)? So that a 6 disc changer or MDI could be located in the armrest?

Part 30 is a lever you lift up to allow air (air con) into the box to make it into a cool box.

Thanks.

Don't suppose you know whether there is a version of the jumbo box for an Octavia that will take the MDI in its cage?

I did a lot of research before retro-fitting mine (see link in sig for lots of pics + info) and never saw any that had anything other than the phono input (or nothing at all).

How big is the mdi unit? There's no reason you couldn't run the cables to the jumbo box but the space inside is pretty limited.

Anyone know if the parts off a Yeti will fit an Octavia?

There's one at a fairly local breakers that looks the same.

Part numbers from Yeti:

1Z2 863 241 A

5L0 864 207 B

Anthracite or onyx black colour?

Is that the colour if the armrest cover (fabric) or console (plastic) colour?

I know that the top bit of the armrest ie the fabric covered part is different. It's quite a bit deeper. Of itself that may not be a problem though. IIRC it also just has plastic sides as opposed to the carpet ones in the Octavia.

Sarge.

Thanks for the info.

The one I am looking at has very dark carpeted sides! The armrest looks exactly the same as the Octavia ones as well.

Confused...

1Z2 863 241 A is the same part (console) number as fitted to a 2009 Octavia (no idea on colour as I don't have the suffix, but the pictures look onyx-ish)

5L0 864 207 B is a Yeti part (armrest), but apart from the 5L0 bit the part number is the same as fitted to an Octavia of similar age (c.2010)

Now I'm confused... Again.

Not sure why its called jumbo...lol
