Question about horse power and cubic capacity

Featured Replies

All fair points and sounds like you know a lot more than me. I've had two mk4 golf petrol turbos that both went over 100,000 miles with no turbo trouble but both had been very well looked after.

With the Fabia I'm only keeping it for three years so it will be under warranty so no worries on that front.

Three years with a VRs shouldn't be a problem. If it's looked after it'll go for quite some time I would expect. The TSI engine in the VRs is proven to be mechanically sound...it's been out for about 4 years I believe. But the supercharger is being done away with in the newer versions I hear and one of the very new trick turbo chargers is going in to replace the supercharger and existing turbo. They reckon 190ps easy! Should fly. I don't think the new engine is about yet and won't be for some time but this should simplify the mechanicals quite some bit and make the engine a good 'keeper' without so much expense if it goes wrong. Make sure you post and let us all know how your new car is going when you get it.
