028 145 701 RX

I can't seem to locate any specific applications of this particular turbo. :( The nine digits appear often, but with RX on the end I've unable to find out what sort of turbo this could be.

Doesn't the X indicate it is a manufacturer's exchange (ie reconditioned) item?

The first hit I got on Google shows the 028 145 701R as bing fitted to the the Canadian spec 92 - 98 Golf and Jetta, and 92 -94 Passat. It could be that it is used far more widely than that though.

Nope, as it isn't new. It is merely a re-conditioned old unit made to be 'as-new'.

So, assuming the engine was originally had just an "R" does this give any clues as to what this turbo did?

I'm off to re-try google.

YAY! Its for the AAZ TDI engine. which is late nineties golfs/jettas and the like. So totally useless to me. End of thread. ta.
