Wing mirror glass fallen off

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I was just about to set off yesterday and flipped my wing mirror back out from being folded in and the mirror glass fell off :o

It didn't break fortunately, but does anyone know how to reattach it? Is it a special glue that Skoda will charge a fortune for, or is it some kind of resin or something?

It's a bit annoying and the neither surfaces were tacky in any way so it's a mystery.

Cheers

Your not the only one,

Cheers mate.

There seem to be conflicting views on 'Superglue' and tape though. Is yours still holding on with the sueprglue?

Ta

Depending on the backing, superglue can remove the mirror finish off the glass.

Ta

Yeah, still holding with the superglue.

That wouldn't be good. What would you use cheezemonkhai? I'm a bit nervous about any tape but I guess it must work

My glass fell out of my volvo. I got some double sided tape and it has been fine, this was done about 11 months ago.

Cheers Chris. Now, do I risk a flea-bay roll for £2.99 or go to Halfrauds and buy an £8.50 roll :S

*** UPDATE ***

Went to Halfrauds and bought a six-pack of number plate fixing strips for £2.49. Cleaned the back of the glass and the wing mirror plate, fixed all six strips to the glass and stuck the glass to the mirror plate. So far so good – 3 days and counting
