DSG Gearbox Errors. Advice Needed

Featured Replies

I am getting intermittent gearbox faults on my DSG. Do I need to worry about these or are they normal....

One garage said if you notice it and you have no dash lights it's not an issue.  I need some independent advice. Is it the start of something that could become more significant....

The errors have been recorded and ODBeleven picks them up as inactive. So they have occurred but arent occurring at the time.of the scan. Are you saying they are false messages?

i hope so, dealer told me he can't see any

For peace of mind, you could erase them all and then re-scan in a few days time?

Mind and re-scan with only the ignition on 😉

Cheers. I've reset already but scanned with the engine on before

It's a false alarm, typical of the DSG when scanning with the engine turned on, your gearbox should be fine.

Usually a sign of someone who spends too much time with their car and scans for faults without actually having any issue :D   (I have been guilty of that in the past myself too)

Nowadays you have to check car by self, one week before noticed that errors car had an anual service,

and dealer didn't noticed dead air qualitty sensor,

now i waitig it fourth week

On my 06 Golf I had the PRNDS flash of doom and it was stuck in first gear limp mode with no reverse

Had to replace the whole box in the end. It had done about ~125k

Sounds like a poor dealer than anything else (if the fault was there prior the service of-course).

Also, all these DIY scanning tools are good and useful when you know what you're doing, the majority of users buying and using them doesn't, they just think it's cool to replicate what they read on-line.

And this is relevant to an actual false alarm of a different car and a different gearbox how exactly?

short version:

full replacement of DSG6 on 82k Km,

after lost completely power on highway, thank God one way traffic

first part only screenshots, have no idea why author didn't simple copy-paste his text

https://www.drive2.ru/l/552321800223065649

my also has reached 82k Km, but without problems, except rattles on rough roads

replacing oil after each 40k Km instead required 60

Very rare occasion, the DQ250 DSG6 boxes are almost bullet-proof. I hope the new DQ381 DSG7 in mine turns out to be as good as those in the long run.

And in any case it's not related to the OP's "issue" as he doesn't have one essentially. No reason to stress him for no reason!
