whirring noise

Featured Replies

over the last few weeks a wearing (sp) noise can be heard quite loudly in the car.

It happens above 20mph. The noise does not increase with engine or road speed, its still there when I knock the car into neutral. Also when I put the car on full lock and pull away I can hear a scraping/rubbing noise I beleive. definitely not a CV joint noise

Its does sound a bit like a rotational noise but Im unsure due to it not increasing with road speed.

I did have cupra bushes put on the car 4+ weeks ago and temp steel wheels just before I noticed this noise.

Another thing to add my brakes are very low all round but are getting replaced soon.

Cheers for looking

If the pads are very low(through to metal backing plate), the run out on the disc could be creating the noise...
