As a recent newcomer to this forum I would value your opinions on the merits of v-checker pro against vag com; The v-checker seems to do the same as vag com but comes out at £50 against £260 for vag com.I already have Gendan Engine Checer Pro on my laptop which covers all the engine funtions and data, but would like to be able to access abs systems and steering etc.

The v-checker does not do the same thing as VCDS (VAG-COM Diagnostic System). The v-Checker is limited. If all you want is a code reader than the V-Checker may be the ticket for you. But VCDS is way more than a code checker.
