help I get fault code 01247 and the engine runs poorly

Featured Replies

Hi !

I'm getting tired of the car, I have changed the throttle body, fuel filters, ignition parts.

Now I get error code 01247 - Activated Charcoal Filters (evaps) System Solenoid Valve 1 (N80)

The engine runs poorly/jerkily

What do I need to change more?

I´m grateful for response

Cheers

The N80 is the purge valve that fits into the top of the charcoal canister in the engine bay. The charcoal canister stores petrol vapour from the fuel tank and releases it into the inlet pipework under ECU control. If it is stuck open, then the engine can run poorly.

Do I need to change that purge valve ?

I start wonder if there are something wrong with the ECU ?

Sometime a wonder if a should change car =)

You can prise out the valve and check that it opens/close when you supply a voltage. Usually, they have to be replaced and they are not cheap.

I have tested the valve and it openends and close. Where should I look next ??

If you have checked it opens and closes, then it maybe it's opening at the wrong time. It should only open when the engine is warm and under load. You need to check it is getting the signal to open

It´s working naw, I have not get that fault code again. I erased the fault codes after i have checked the voltage from the signal cable.

But there is no ending of the problem.

The car continues to jump/twitch and go bad from time to time.

OK. It could have a bad connection. Unplugging/plugging in often improves the connection.
