Loose Bolt

Featured Replies

Hi all

My dad has a Fabia II which was bought new in 07, however this last two years or so I am forever having to tighten the bolt which secures the operating arm on the drivers door to the car frmae. It is a splined bolt which keeps working loose and makes a horible loud clicking noise until secured. has anyone else come across this problem and if so how have you managedtosolve it.

Many thanks

Loctite?

I was going to say - take it all the way out and use loctite. Job done.

Use a non setting loctite such as 222 in case you need to undo the screw at a later date.

Most modern cars will get this problem, Modern built quality ain't what it used to be , get some threadlock not lock tight , threadlock is used to lock the bolt to the thread,it's slower to set so gives you enough time to thread it into place
