I'm currently away from home and have got a slow puncture in one of my near new Michelin PS3s - on the rear offside on my Octavia vRS estate

It has a nail going through the flat low section of tread

Should I go with a repairer and get it plugged, or replace it with etyres mobile fitting service?

Anyone with comments on plugged tyres please feel free to add your 2p worth

Plug it

Never had a problem, and to be honest never heard of a problem

Although I'm sure someone will say otherwise

They use a measure anyway and if it too near sidewall will not repair, so plug is a no brainer

Anyone any idea of the overall cost of plugging?

Should be around the £25 mark.

Should be around the £25 mark.

Should it !!

I think I paid about £12 the last time

£25?

Usually £10 or less in my exp. Last one was done for free at Kwikfit, as I get all my tyres there and system said no charge. Not That I minded, as was on company car which is a magnet for nails!

Have always had punctures repaired and no issues so far - and do 35k/year in work car.

Plug it,

I have had 3 punctures in the last 3 months all have been plugged.

Not had a puncture in the previous 19 yrs though.

If it is across the tyre plug it but if in the wall a new tyre is needed, well that's what i was told when i got a nail in my tyre with only 1000 miles on it.

Yes 25 is waaaayy to much, with balancing, £10, as above I have had done at kwik fit for free, If you fit cooper tyres they repair punctures for free, or if unrepairable, NEW tyre for free

I paid £15 last week to plug my 3,000 mile old Continental

Yay but you live in the Sarth mate! :giggle:

Quick update - had a mobile repair done by etyres this afternoon - was more than happy to pay £25 for the repair instead of £162 for a new tyre
