Hi :)

It all depends... how many miles on the clock? Lots of rust? If otherwise in good condition it might be worth it, but it is also a fact that you can get another Felly for the same price. Split gaiters, worn brake pads, rusty exhaust is after all part of car ownership, so even if you get another car you'll face this sooner or later.

EDIT: Oh, and this section is where you should post/ask for advice :)

you will find that if the emissions only failed on the lambda reading, and you put a new exhaust system on, it will usually cure the lambda. you should not need a new cat. bottom balljoints are roughly £40 per side plus fitting and a steering rack gaiter should be under £15 plus fitting. tyres are readily available as part worn items, and a set of brake pads is not dear, so to me £600 seems a bit on the pricey side. find a backstreet garage or a friend of a friends friend to do the jobs and then take it for a retest. lol
