Performance-brakes for vRS?

Featured Replies

Hey there peeps!

I'm looking for some better brakes for my car , the original-ones fades WAY too quickly up front...

Anyone knows if they share the same brakes as the MK1 vRS?

If that's the case , I'm getting some Octavia MK1 vRS brakes  .

If no , got any tips on some other brakepads?

Search! This one's been done hundreds of times :)

Yes, Mk1 Octavia vRS brakes will fit.

Or you may find a fluid upgrade, and perhaps fast road pads will make a difference to the existing 288mm setup.

I did some research , seems the 318mm is the one to go for here in Sweden since we have alot off crashed Octavia RS and a little less crashed MK4 Golf R32...

312mm....

I believe Janner has looked into this and has a link to 3-4 brake upgrades. MK4 R32 brakes don't fit. 323mm is the biggest I think.

Thanks for the replies , though I can't seem to find Janner's thread about brake-upgrades... =(.

They do, you just need different offsets on your alloys or spacers to increase the gap. Theres a guy with a Polo GTI using them now iirce

There are quite a few on here that have bought those Brembos, need big clearance to get the to fit.

I ran 312mm and 256mm front and rear on my Ibiza and they were ample, they will also fit under standard wheels with no spacers.

did you look into the pad availability? Im thinking along the lines of track spec pads

I had the regular Octavia MK1 type 312mm brakes, you can't match the standard callipers and 312mm carriers so pads are as everyone else using 312mm.

Okay , good to know that. Still abit more interesting since they are brand new.

Probably wont get them since I sent him a bid on 375 inclusive delivery and he wants 525... :p

He declined the offer...

Oh well , used brakes cost around 80 euros for both.

Just need to find some good brakepads and discs!

Anyone got any good suggestions for that? =D
