Philips Silvervision indicator bulbs

Featured Replies

Having previously used the Philips Silvervision indicator bulbs, I ordered a new set from Powerbulbs (great service btw!).

However, the silver coating is no where near as good as it used to be.

Both of the new bulbs look similar are have far more orange showing through than the Silvervisions they replace (one of them blew).

I might get in touch with Powerbulbs and ask for their opinion, but rather dissappointed!

No prize for guessing which is the older, solid silver coloured one and which one is the new one!

What do you think?

I've emailed Powerbulbs with the photo attached. Will let you know what they say :)

thanks, lookig forward to what they say as i'm also interested in these bulbs

My silverlines look like the ones on the right especially on a photograph, but when fitted look spot on.

Thanks Nick.

I did just get a reply from powerbulbs saying they were unable to view the jpg I attached to the email. However, they also suggested that Philips haven't advised them of any specification change. Yet the current models are clearly different to the ones I had before.

Either way, from what you're saying, it sounds like they have just changed them to use a thinner coating and it's not me who's received a duff pair.

Hohumm, I guess everyone's cost cutting these days!

i got 2 sets from powerbulbs and sent them back after a few emails of them refusing, absolute cowboys in my opinion, found them locally at a car shop.

What were wrong with yours making you want to send them back?
