Yesterday's process on my Race Blue Octavia. Thoughts?

Featured Replies

Gave the car a few hours attention yesterday. I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts on this for a hand process?

Pressure washed (was at my parents house and forgot my foam lance).

Thoroughly 2BM'd, with a quick second razz around for good measure.

Rinse and dry.

Iron-X'd (not too metal much came off this time for a change, but did markedly improve water sheeting and feel of paint).

Rinse and dry.

Clayed (generic green clay, lubed with LT) - Got rid of some flecks of fence paint courtesy of my gimp of a neighbour :(

Quick wash down again, rinse and dry.

SRP

PB Black Hole

2 coats of Jetseal 109

Vics Concourse wax applied by bare hands - quite nice to do :D

It was the first time I've used Black Hole and I'm pretty impressed. After finishing everything, in different light I spotted a small area of clay marring on a wing. I went over it with a small amount of Black Hole and it was completely masked. I will definitely be taking this product to shows.

No pics of the finished car, but looking at it this morning, the gloss is epic.

....would be great with some pics :|

I'd be interested to see a SE blue with black hole used. As might do my mates if it's good

not sure how the blackhole will work on top of the srp? maybe just one or the other?

Indeed - i was wondering the same. I skipped the SRP last time i used Black Hole.

I actually did two coats of black hole and then EX-P sealant..... did a great job on the swirls!!!

Yeah. I wondered that too. The blackhole went on and buffed off very easily on top of the SRP though. The difference to the touch from the squeeky clean, post claying to the silky, post SRP is huge.

Nice pics there Nick and the car is still looking nice.............. B)

I'd be careful on which products your layering on top of each other as you will undo what's underneath it..........

SRP will act as a filler, black hole has similar properties so should in theory take off some of the SRP and to a certain extend CG Jetseal 109 also has some filling action............

Looks stunning matey
