I've got a westfalia detachable towbar on mine, you carn't see bar when you remove swan neck and electrics fold up under bumper

I managed to get mine 2nd hand off ebay quiet cheap, touch of black hammerite and it looked like new

I have a detachable 'Brink' on mine, this is as solid as a piece of granite - fitted by towequipe.

There easy to fit, 4 bolts and it on

do you need to cut the bumper to fit a towbar? seriously considering one for my car.

My fixed towbar required a small cut to allow it to fit (I was slightly generous with my cut). However the cut is on the underside of the bumper so not really obvious

The bonus of a fixed one is that it is more reliable than parking sensors :giggle:

mine doesn't have parking sensors - although i could never live with leaving it on show so it'll have to be removable!!!

My Octy is a bit of a workhorse, but it is a diesel estate not a vrs, so I don't mind the towbar being on show.... plus when I want to hang the bike carrier on, or use the trailer it is one less thing to faff about with.

Yeah you do have to cut the bumper whatever make of towbar you have,

I have a cut out in middle for bar and then another on exhaust side of lower bumper for electrics to fold up under bumper
