Fabia PAS pump swap! With a twist

Featured Replies

Fabia PAS pump swap today went well. Took all of 90 minutes to get the pump changed and all topped up and ready to go! Imagine my dismay then after changing the soft coding to match the original, the PAS light was on and the steering was quite clearly not PAS assisted. Thankfully before I decided to kick the car a bit, I went into the fault codes and there was a fault for "crash signal 35-00" or something like that! New one to me. :D Anyway, I cleared it using VCDS and everything suddenly came back online! I was muchos relieved I tell thee! Fingers crossed this has fixed the problem and my trackday on Saturday goes without any PAS "limp mode" like at Castle Combe....

Fingers crossed at no more PAS issues as well

I have fingers & toes crossed. I need to really get out to my local "racetrack" ;) to test it out in the first place it ever went into limp mode on me. Long dual carriageway but with some good sweeping bends. Its steering at speed which seemed to set it off before.
