Vogtland springs and shocks...

Featured Replies

Am considering springs and shocks for the car and have seen

THESE and I'd be happy with a 40mm drop, I suspect it would only be 25mm

on the RS version as it is already 15mm lower than a standard fabby I think. They look nice quality to me.

But I'm a bit of a suspension novice and would appreciate any thoughts before I allocate funds.

Anyone know anything about the manufacturer or better still have bought a set?

I've never heard of them before...

And I don't want coilovers so lets keep suggestions to spring and shock sets.

Thanks for your help...

Id be interested to know how good these are too.

Want something that brings the car down a tad lower, handles better but less bounce and more comfort.

Not asking a lot lol.

I can arnestly say ive never heard of them, with that said that might be a bad thing and the price seems rather cheap. Personally I would go for the KW or the Weitec kits. Just from personal experince and I know how good they are, altho weitec and AP are engineered by KW......

But im the same im not looking for coillys am looking for a tuned uprated suspension package, am not looking for show am looking for substance so if you do get them please do a write up mate would love to know how you get on with them

I have just been having a quick read of some reviews, these seem quite popular in America and seem to be comparable to the likes of H&R, Koni and KW.... If I am understanding the review properly that is.

Oh and depending which model you buy of course.

Vogtland are one of the best value for money kits we do.

Excellent quality in terms of build and ride and we have a lot of discount off them so value for money is superb on them.

Steven @ C&R Enterprises raves about these! top quality kits for mid-range money!

Damian,

How would you say they compare with the likes of KW V1s'?

Thanks

I was hoping you'd pop up.

I'm very keen on these because

a, They're a bit of a different choice from the usual suspects.

b. They're not in a bright colour. Wouldn't attract too much attention.

c. When I fitted my RARB I noticed my rear shocks have seen better days.

d. I want to make the car handle better still and am uninterested in going low.

So is it a 25mm drop if the kit I linked is fitted to a vRS but 40mm to the other variants?

If so then thats perfect for me.

I've got to say that they look like very good quality gear from the pics.

I'm worried they'll be too hard but apart from that I'm almost sold on them.

Me too...

Group buy DPM ?

Yer my ears have pricked up, espically as they look very subtle no fancy yellow or purple here

Whats all the fuss about colour of springs all of a sudden? lol, when do you see them?

Depends some people dont mind the colour but my old car had variant 1 kw which are purple and yellow, and I could see them all the time. Looking for a more OEM look so subtle black and grey is better for my plans

why not get the AP's

cheaper and they're spot on

AP

Someone told me the strt kit is basically oem dampers painted orange lol

ROFL, that's hilarious, someone painting them in a shed lol.

IMO, on the fabia it's coilovers or nothing. Iv tried a Ibiza on springs, awful, bouncy, and couldn't live with it for more than a hour tbh. While I see how shocks & springs would be better, for the money you can get coilovers, it doesn't mean you have to have them all the way down, but it gives you the option if you want to.

Matt

Will soon let you know, I'm about to take the plunge and order the Vogtland coilovers from Damian@DPM.... This guy has the patience of a saint! Brilliant service.

Great stuff, be really interested to know what they are like. :p

Please post your findings here...

Been about for ages on the Vauxhall scene, pretty popular.

I've heard that the internals of these are kw's

Is that a good thing?

I'm very close to ordering a set off springs and shocks.

It's now between these and the Koni STR T set tbh,

I've just read some reviews of the Supersport 55mm set and I've been put off them

but until now they were a contender too.

Read a very favourable write up on the konis (mikejay) recently but

theres still something drawing me toward the vogtlands :wonder:
