Parrot hands free install help needed!

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Today was the day I tried to install the kit!

All Ok, except the volume! Blimey - I cannot turn it down low enough!

Did anyone else have this problem? (its a CK3000)

I have connected the mute cable to the unutilised connector on the lower ISO -- pin 2 I think.

Does anyone have any ideas? The volume control (on the stereo) doesn't help either.

Many thanks,

Matthew

Matt,

the volume on the stereo won't do anything because it's "before" the Parrot in the signal path if you see what I mean.

In order to change the volume, you need to go to the accessories menu on your mobile phone which is generally in the communications bit.

There, it will list the Parrot kit with the name you gave it when you paired the device

In there, there's an option to adjust the volume :)

it depends which phone you plan to use with the kit...

all phones can control the volume via the usual call volume control buttons on the phone.

only sonyericcson phones can utilize the extra "parrot" menu for more control.

Cheers for the replies.

I don't get such a menu on my 6600. Should I?

If I turn the earpiece volume on the phone right down, it is still very loud!

What settings have people set the stereo unit to Phone In/Phone On or Phone Off?

Cheers for the ideas - keep them coming!

I have been interested in the Parrot handsfree kit myself. What model did you fit and, apart from the volume, how easy was it to fit and how well does it operate?

got a parrot kit in the van and a 6600, go into the menu and you can change the volume in there. can on mine anywho

What software version is your CK3000?

Perhaps I need to update it....

btw thats the menu on the parot not the phone, and i'm not even sure if i have a ck3000, i just know its a parrot kit. will check the model tomorrow

tbh off the top of my head i think its a ck3100

I have used these kits quite a lot - currently have the CK3300 but have also used the Ck3100. With regards to fitting they are extremely simple due to the ISO wiring loom that is supplied.

With regards to the Nokia 6600 I used to have this phone and had no end of issues with it and the Parrot - it is mainly due to the Nokia software on the phone itself.

There is quite a good chart from Parrot:

http://www.driveblue.com/download/ck3x00%20vs%20phones%20features.pdf

This shows all the capabilities of the phone - the main problem stems from how the Parrot views the Nokia 6600 when connected. It should see it as a 'Handsfree' Device which gives you more control over the settings but sometime is only sees it as a 'Headset' - this gives you less functionality.

Have you paired it under a General phone or under the Nokia 6600 pairing on the Parrot?

If you have only tried the pairing under General try the specific pairing as this might help.

Another good place to look is under the user forum on Parrot:

Hope this is of some help

Theres a "phone vol" setting on the headunit in my fabia. It's found in the setup menu when you hold the TP key down for 3 seconds. Is this not where you need to adjust the volume?
