Skoda Insurance

Hello all,

Does anybody use the Skoda insurance? I'm tempted to switch from DirectLine, just wondering what people's thoughts on it are... I like the fact that my car would be repaired within the Skoda network, should I really care about this though!?

Richard.

All big businesses nowadays like to think that theirs is the only package (of whatever) that could possible be of interest to the punter. I collected my Yeti three weeks ago today, after approx. 1 week of obtaining quotes for this that & every aspect. I was with Direct Line (2 cars - the 2nd still with DL) & also with their breakdown (previously Green Flag). Used the Skoda 7 days free jobbie, and when phoned to put this into effect they obviously tried to sell me the full year's deal. They quoted me once, and when they heard what DL were quoting undercut them by £20. DL have had my business (in many areas of insurance) for a number of years but would not come down any lower. Decided therefore to go with the Skoda deal once the 7 day job expired. Realised afterwards that I wouldn't be paying another £60 or so per annum for breakdown as that's included in the car purchase/insurance package.

The question of repairs being done "within the Skoda network" is in fact a similar situation to most insurances in that the companies all have their "preferred" repairers. It's no great thing in the final analysis but it helps the customer feel a little happier that the company cares & wants to smooth out all problems "in house".

I am currently insured with them as they worked out cheaper than everyone else (when you take everything into account).
