wheel liner torx screws missing

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 06 plate 2.0 TDI DSG Octavia estate and noticed something odd today. It only has one rear mud flap fitted. On the other side the screws for the wheel arch liner are missing where the mudflap would connect to. I got the car back in Feb and have no idea if I simply never noticed or if it occured during the service before I picked it up. Looks like someone removed it and forgot to put it back or maybe it was pinched (who would want to nick a rear mud flap I don't know - especially as the other one is still there). No sign of damage so it doesn't look like it got ripped off by anything.

Strange.... Anyway as the arch liner is a little loose due to the missing screws I was wondering if anyone knew what size the torx screws are. Don't really want to go to the Skoda dealer to buy a couple of screws. Will probably pick up a new set of rear mudflaps at some point but not too bothered right now and they won't come with screws. Might just remove the other one to make the car look symmetric again!

Cheers

That's what they're there for? Right screws, probably £0.25 each or something silly (all the small stuff's silly cheap) and 2 mins to fit.

Oh - didn't realise. Just assumed they'd be bloody expensive from the dealer. In that case I'll get down the dealers (might order some mudflaps while I'm there).

Cheers

They are all the same all round the bumper and wheel arches - just take one out and compare.

The part number and exact size are "N906 487 03 Hexagon socket oval head panel bolt 4.8x16mm"

They're in the region of 10p each and it's worth getting a bag of 20 or so as they're used all over the car.
