How do i remove this paint blemish

Featured Replies

Hi All, looking for some advice on how to remove a paint blemish before i hand a car over for trade in exchange for my new Octavia.

See picture below, the stain is much more prominent in the flesh. The black mark/stain seems like its imbeded into the paint work and i cant get it off. This happened when my better half opened the door a bit too far in tesco car park and made contact (clobbered) the car next door, it think its was the door handle of the adjacent car that made contact so this is like plastic from the door handle that’s transferred to my cars paintwork!

Any suggestions on how i can remove this, preferably without out too much cost, i don’t want to spend a lot (anything!) on the car as its being traded.

Thanks in advance

I am sure it will just polish out, does not look too bad

Yes - that will be marks in the surface of the lacquer alone, so should polish out. Concentrated machine polishing with a small pad would be very effective. I would also clay the area to remove any contamination left in the surface. For the most effective hand method, I would use T cut scratch removing paste on a microfibre cloth.
